She later returned to Bluffton University to earn her Special Education Certification. Marisa has served as an Intervention Specialist with the Putnam County ESC for one year, Ottawa-Glandorf High School for four years, and most recently, Donnell Middle School for the past five years. "I'm excited to be a Falcon and can't wait to get to know the students, staff, and community. This allows Brandon to have closer understanding on our students and staff alike. The Falcons opened the day with a strong performance at the Elmwood Invitational at Birch Run, finishing 3rd out of 10 teams with a team score of 347. Riverdale finished behind only Carey and Bluffton.

During that time, she spent three years serving as a substitute teacher at Upper Sandusky Schools, gaining valuable classroom experience. Hannah will be starting her first year of teaching here at Riverdale, and we are thrilled to welcome her to our team! "I am excited to meet the staff and students at Riverdale school. 📣 Introducing SOAR Time at Riverdale Middle School!

Students in grades 6–8 will have SOAR Time after lunch. During this period, teachers can reteach lessons, provide additional support, offer tutoring, and answer student questions. Students may also use the time to make up work or complete tests and quizzes.

During this transition year, 5th grade students will have SOAR intervention during 3rd period, focusing on specific English and Math skills. Once a skill is mastered, students will move on to the next area. Next school year, 5th graders will join the rest of the middle school for SOAR Time after lunch.

Graduated from University of Findlay Bachelors in ECE. Graduated from Rhodes State Associates of Applied Science in ECE. I look forward to helping administration and students succeed by providing dependable support and building meaningful connections each day.
Mr. Shumaker will be having a 6th grade orientation for incoming 6th graders for the 2026-27 school year on Wednesday August 12th at 9am and 1pm. He will go over several different topics such as scheduling, transitioning to 6th grade, and expectations for 6th grade. Students will receive a Chromebook, access their schedule and locker, and be able to become familiar with the Middle School. Students and parents should only attend one session lasting about one hour. If you cannot attend, you can see Mr. Shumaker during Open House.
