Riverdale Local Schools

In Mrs. Brooks' first grade, we have been discussing shapes and their attributes. We worked in small groups and shared our thoughts with each other.

Mr. Bemis brought in Mrs. Hefner this morning to teach salsa dancing to his Spanish classes. As you can see, the students had a wonderful time—along with Mr. Bemis. He consistently finds creative, fun, and engaging ways to bring learning to life for his students, making his classroom an enjoyable and meaningful experience.

Big time recognition for Marissa Bonham! Marissa has been named 2nd Team All-Ohio in basketball 🏀 and also placed 6th in the long jump at the National Indoor Track Meet 🏃‍♀️👏 An incredible accomplishment showcasing her dedication, talent, and hard work across multiple sports. We are proud of you, Marissa!!!

Congratulations to Tyler Clay, Claryssa Johnson, Alexis Crace, and Molly Van Atta for being selected to place our Riverdale Middle School wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery when we go to Washington D.C. in May. Interested students wrote essays for this and were asked to include in their essays what placing the wreath would mean to them, why it was important to them, as well as why they felt they should be chosen to be awarded such an honorable privilege. The essays were terrific and it was incredibly difficult to pick the top 4, but in the end, these 4 students' essays were chosen. Congratulations again to Tyler, Claryssa, Alexis, and Molly!!!

Congratulations to our JH Quiz Bowl team for finishing Runner-Up in the Hancock County League and Runner-Up Champions in the tournament, only losing by two points to Liberty-Benton in the Championship game!

Today at Nike Indoor Nationals, the weight throw featured what many are calling the most competitive showdown in the event’s history! Brody stepped up on the big stage and threw 73’10.5”, finishing 9th out of the best 64 throwers in the nation! With that performance, he earned 2nd Team All-American honors and finished as the #2 junior in the country at Nationals! Way to go, Brody! We are incredibly proud of you and the work you’ve put in to have such an INCREDIBLE junior season! 👏💪

Winner, winner! 🥉 Grady Phelps finishes 3rd place this afternoon at the state tournament! What an incredible accomplishment. After finishing 5th last year and now 3rd this year, it’s safe to say he’ll be one of the favorites for a state title next season! Let’s make it High Five Monday! 🙌 If you see Grady in the halls, be sure to give him a high five and congratulate him on an amazing performance representing our school and community. Falcon Nation is proud!

Grady goes down 3–2 after giving up a last-second takedown with just seconds left on the clock. A heartbreaking finish to a great match. He will now move into the consolation bracket and wrestle for 3rd place. Still a lot to compete for—let’s go, Grady!

What a season for Kydin Reed. Unfortunately his tournament run ended this morning after an injury during his match. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, toughness, and determination he showed all season long. Kydin represented Riverdale with heart, and the future is bright. With one more year to go, we know this won’t be the last time we see him at the State Wrestling Tournament. Great season, Kydin! Falcon Nation is proud of you. 💙

Grady Phelps wins his match to punch his ticket to the semifinals! 💪 After finishing 5th place last year, Grady has already guaranteed himself a chance to do even better this year.
