Mr. Shumaker will be having a 6th grade orientation for incoming 6th graders for the 2026-27 school year on Wednesday August 12th at 9am and 1pm. He will go over several different topics such as scheduling, transitioning to 6th grade, and expectations for 6th grade. Students will receive a Chromebook, access their schedule and locker, and be able to become familiar with the Middle School. Students and parents should only attend one session lasting about one hour. If you cannot attend, you can see Mr. Shumaker during Open House.

Congratulations to Leighya Hill on an outstanding performance at the OHSAA Middle School State Track Meet!

Leighya placed 10th in the state in discus with a throw of 88’ 2”. What an incredible accomplishment competing against the best athletes in Ohio!

⚾️ Baseball Update ⚾️

Tonight’s baseball game at Ada has been canceled due to field conditions. The game has been rescheduled for Friday, May 22nd at 5:00 PM at Ada.

Our 7th Grade End-of-the-Year Auction is happening now! We want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated items and helped make this event possible for our students. A special thank you to PTO, Academic Boosters, and the Education Foundation for their generous support and donations. We also greatly appreciate Chad Gottfried for serving as our auctioneer and bringing excitement and energy to the event. Finally, a very special thank you to Mrs. Holderman for organizing everything and putting in so much hard work behind the scenes to make today a success for our students!

Our 8th graders, along with Mrs. Wehrle, Mrs. Caudill, and Mr. Day arrived in Washington DC yesterday after stopping at Shanksville, PA to visit the United Flight 93 Crash Sight and Memorial. Today, included visits to the MLK Jr, FDR, and Jefferson Memorials, and a guided tour of the U. S. Capitol Buidling, Mt. Vernon, and Ford's Theater. Another highlight to their day included all you can eat pizza, pasta, salad, chicken nuggets, french fries, and chocolate chip cookies at Primos Italian restaurant. They finished up their day with a visit to the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial. It was a HOT day with a heat index of 106 degrees, but so much was learned and so much fun was had!

Lifer's Biology classes spent the week dissecting fetal pigs. They learned about all of the organ systems last week. This week they got to see all of the organs and how they are connected. Students were able to trace the digestive track, measure the small intestine, inflate the lungs, and see the brain.
