Mrs. Brooks’ 1st-grade scientists have been learning all about weather, thunder, and lightning! Students explored how storms form and even observed electrical charge using a static electricity ball to see how lightning can happen. Hands-on learning made science come alive! ⚡🌩️

Riverdale pride was on full display at the 14th Annual Wyandot County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet! We’re proud to recognize our All-Ohio honorees who were in attendance: Grady Phelps - wrestling, Kolten Evans - track/cross country, Marissa Bonham - track/basketball, and Paige Vent - track. Nathan Alge and Paige Courtad were named the Riverdale scholarship recipients, and a special congratulations to alumni Kayla (Brown) Golding ‘09 on her induction into the Wyandot County Sports Hall of Fame. A great night celebrating hard work, dedication, and Falcon excellence—congrats to all!

Riverdale shop and engineering students had an outstanding showing at the OTEEA State Project Show, bringing home several top awards including 1st Place Overall Display. The Zupanic Award (Best Project in the State) went to Grant Inbody for his Rocking Chair, which also earned 1st Place in Woods. Congrats to our Riverdale Robotics students who brought home some impressive finishes at the National Robotics Challenge! Over 600 robots competed across 15 categories, and our students represented Riverdale extremely well. Top Results: • 2nd Place – Robot Maze: Cale Young, Brody Berger, Caleb Hoffman • 9th Place (out of 120 teams) – Combat Robot: Lonnie Adams, Hunter Studer, Maelin Mitsche • 9th Place – Robo Hockey: Connor Lowden, Noah Locke, Jacob Williams, Isaiah White, Jordan Buchanan. Congratulations to these boys who each won a gift basket from our Spring Book Fair! During Family Night, they guessed the closest number to how many computer keys were in the jar, and their guesses were spot on!

We are excited to celebrate two outstanding winners from the Hancock County Tell-a-Tale Literacy Contest!

In Kindergarten (Mrs. Birchfield’s class), Aaron Woodruff earned 2nd place for story and 1st place for illustration.

In 4th grade (Mrs. Weatherholtz’s class), Aleigha Woodruff earned an incredible 1st place for story and 1st place for illustration.

Both students were recognized at the Mazza Museum during the awards ceremony.

Luke Swavel Memorial Date and Information
Mrs. Brooks’ first-grade class has been busy learning and growing, just like their plants!

Students have been planting microgreens and exploring the plant life cycle firsthand! From planting seeds to watching them sprout, they are getting a hands-on look at how plants grow and change over time.

Students with a 3.5 GPA through the first three nine-week periods of the year, quiz bowl students, National Honor Society, and students with perfect attendance are invited to our Academic Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 13th. We will also disperse local scholarships to seniors. Paper and emailed invitations will go out to those who qualify for an award or scholarship. If you have any questions about eligibility for awards, please contact Ms. Shaw in the High School office.
